THE APPLICATION - WINTER CERAMICS COURSE

2026 Winter Ceramics & Digital Recording Course
Our 3 week session will run November 29 - December 19, 2026.
The application entails the following: 
  • Your name, email address, nationality, date of birth, and current academic affiliation (if applicable)
  • A few short questions asking you to describe your interest in the program
  • The name and email address of an academic or work reference​
  • A copy of your CV/resume (in .doc or .pdf format)

The application deadline is November 1, 2026, but students are encouraged to apply early as admission is on a rolling basis. No prior experience in ceramic illustration or digitization is required. This course is designed as an introductory program and is intended for students with no previous experience in ceramic drawing.

PLEASE NOTE: We require a minimum of 6 students for the project to run. All participants will be notified as soon as this minimum number has been reached and the project is confirmed. We strongly advise students not to purchase travel tickets until they have received confirmation that the project will proceed.

TUITION & COURSE CREDIT

Tuition Cost
Tuition for the 3 week session (including room, board, and transportation within Portugal) is €1700 EUR. 
​Course credit is not offered for this course. However, we are happy to sign any forms you may need to get academic credit through your university, though we ask that you discuss this with us prior to the start of the project. Students will receive a letter of completion at the end of the three weeks.

Please note the following:
Once accepted, students will be asked to fill out a number of forms and pay the deposit, which counts toward their tuition payment. The funding for this project comes from student tuition. All payments made to the Castelo Archaeological Project go directly toward room and board for the crew, field trips, site and artifact conservation, and funding for specialist analyses.
This project is not affiliated with the universities of the listed staff and attending students.
The Castelo Archaeological Project is an archaeological field school investigating a Bronze Age / Iron Age site in Portugal.
